I have come up with a self-care system.
First comes SELF…
Support could come from family, friends, a group, whether live or online, or a therapist, coach, or consultant who works with family caregivers.
Educate yourself about your new role; ask plenty of questions of caree and medical professionals.
Laughter, keep a sense of humor.
Free time—how even it is, even if it is a few minutes alone in the bathroom or watching TV.
Next comes CARE
Calm your thoughts through CBT or mindfulness.
Acceptance of what you can’t change
Record writing/journaling
Exercise/physical activities

Right now, I am writing a self-care journal for women over 50. It will be ADHD-friendly, but women of all ages can use it. It will be offered in PDF form, first at a low cost. Stay tuned.
